Welcome everybody to another blog from my demented mind. First off, I would like to say thanks to everyone who recently purchased Zombie Command: A Horror Anthology off of Nook. Zombie Command's sales have been taking off since the beginning of the year.
Mad Max Fury Road was released this weekend and I saw it today. There's only one way of describing it: a special effects film. I found it lacking in the story and character development. No offense Tom Hardy, but Mel Gibson brought feelings and emotion to the character. You, on the other hand, were like a robot. The action sequences were awesome, but that was all the movie really offered. I thought Beyond Thunderdome was a better developed movie and that is not saying much.
I finished reading the novel Songs and Stories from Tesla's Tower by PanOrpheus. I was taken in by the universe and all the characters he created. A co-worker once talked extensively about the inventions of Tesla and, when I saw the title, I decided to give it a try. The novel is Steampunk, Alternate History and science fiction all rolled up into one thrill ride. I recommend giving this author a try when you are not reading Mark Cusco Ailes and my novels.
Steampunk popularity has been increasing steadily over the past few years. I've encountered a few people who go out shopping decked out in Steampunk attire. I can see the appeal it has in literature and throwing those older technologies into futuristic situations is brilliant. I'm not saying I would go that route, because my stories are way out there as it is already. I never rule out any possibilities.
I finished writing Alien Town. I added a Marvel style post credits ending I love which will land on the editing board of the short story. Don't worry, it will be in the behind the scenes part of Musings Of A Demented Mind. I completed two short stories by James Coon which are from the large folder of unpublished stories his sister, Linda, found in JC's estate. The first one was written in 1971 and the other one sometime around the same time period. I have stories going all the way back to the sixties. I will work on more of the stories this week. Going through the folder, I can see the Twilight Zone and stories of the unexplained influences he had. Musings is going to be one of the best anthologies, I've ever been associated with.
My brother's military science fiction novel Rich Man's War, Poor Man's Blood is currently being edited. I will be reading it in a few weeks. I recently updated a page on his website for the book. Check out markcuscoailes.com for more details.
I guess it's time to get back to writing
Until Next time,
